Rules

• The competition is open to Victorian students who are in Year 7-10 as of 21 October 2007.
• Competition entries will be accepted from Monday 18 June to the close of business on Sunday 21 October 2007.
• Don't send in offensive or inappropriate images - we won't publish them!
• Please make sure you have permission from your parents to enter this competition.
• Most importantly, please ensure you have permission from any people you have photographed to publish their picture online.
• Images and text approved for publication (that is, those that aren't offensive or inappropriate) will appear on the 'Fabulous & Famous' website.
• By submitting your images and text to the 'Fabulous & Famous' competition you give us permission to re-use them - either digitally or in print. But don't worry, we will always name you as the creator and we will never sell your images.
• We won't include your images and text in the Library's collection.
• We will protect your privacy - see the Library's Privacy Policy.
• One winning entry each from Years 7-8 and Years 9-10 will win a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX12 digital camera worth $399 RRP. One second-place entry each from Years 7-8 and Years 9-10 will win an iPod Shuffle worth $109 RRP. One third-place entry will win a FAMOUS: Karin Catt Portraits Catalogue (featuring pictures from the Library's exhibition) worth $25 RRP.
• The judging panel will consist of professional photographers from the Herald Sun and the State Library of Victoria.
• The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• Prize-winners' (nicknames only) and their winning images will be announced on the 'Fabulous & Famous' website on Monday 29 October 2007. Winners will also be notified by email. 
• By submitting your images and text to the 'Fabulous & Famous' competition you agree to these rules.

The 'How to' bit

• Submit your entries between Monday 18 June and Sunday 21 October 2007.
• Make sure all your image files are jpegs (the filename extension should be .jpg).
• Ensure each image file is no larger in size than 2MB.
• Include the following information with each image you send in:
  - your nickname
  - your year level
  - your email address
  - a title or brief description of your photo.
• If you want to, add tags to your photo. (Tags are single words or short phrases that describe, or label, your photo according to how you see it. For example: princess, tiara, diamonds, hollywood, grace kelly; or rock and roll, drummer, musician, eighties.)
